Privacy Policy
You can play Iron Tide without an account, and it never asks for your name, email address or payment details. This page explains the small amount of data the game does use.
Playing as a guest
You do not need an account. As a guest, your browser’s local storage holds your campaign progress, your sound setting, your arena win and loss count, and a random player id. Your public name is a random ID generated from that id. Clearing your browser’s site data removes all of it, and nothing about a guest is kept on our ladder.
Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional and is only needed to appear on the weekly ladder. When you sign in, Google confirms who you are and we keep a one-way hash of your Google account id so we can recognize you next time. We do not store your email address, your real name or your profile picture, and we do not ask Google for any other access.
For a signed-in player we store a generated public name (a random ID or a generated callsign; names cannot be typed), the flag you choose, if any, and your results in the current weekly tournament. Weekly results are cleared when a new week starts. The public name and flag of each week’s winner are kept in the Hall of Fame.
You can delete your account and ladder record at any time from your profile. Google’s sign-in button sets its own cookies, which are covered by Google’s privacy policy.
Online matches
When you play online, the game sends your player id and your moves to our server so it can run the match. Your public name and flag are shown to your opponent.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, and events such as a match starting or ending. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data such as your approximate location and device type. We do not send it your public name, player id or account. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
